WHO WE ARE

Tattered: battered, torn, frayed, broken, frazzled etc.

Hydrangea: a shrub or climbing plant with rounded or flattened flowering head of small florets.

We are The Tattered Hydrangea. We take our name from a shrub that blooms beautiful flowers that when tattered may be brought back to life by help, healing and care.  We believe that every soul can be restored to a healthy place when given the necessary tools to heal.

Our focus is provide the basic necessities to families uprooted by domestic violence. Providing such items will enable survivors to focus on their healing during the restoration process.

We are small but mighty and driven by providing the basics which are essential to survivors.

Insight: Think on this, domestic violence affects every socio-economic group, race, gender, sexual orientation and age.

WHAT WE DO

Helping. Healing.Caring.

Our mission, and we have chosen to accept it,  is to provide basic items which are essential to families in need.

So what does our mission of helping, healing and caring look like? We are obsessed with furnishing basic necessities such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, lotion, deodorant, pampers,  feminine hygiene products etc. to survivors living shelters or halfway houses.

It is our goal in the future to offer financial literacy courses, salon services, transportation vouchers and much, much more.

Insight: Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men aged 18 or older in the U.S. have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime?
